psiphon45 presents: guided by voices

Appearing on Guided By Voices' 2017 album How Do You Spell HeavenDiver Dan is a high-energy, punchy number filled to the brim with some of Robert Pollard's trademark catchy hooks and infectiously energetic sections.

This live version is a credit to the recorded version, with the band picking up on The Bell House crowd's enthusiasm and matching it with a driving, high-octane rock and roll performance.

back to the lake

Back to the Lake is a favourite of a lot of Guided By Voices fans, and with good reason; the song is one of Robert Pollard's most melodic and spellbinding, appearing on fan favourite album Universal Truths and Cycles in 2002.

It's hard not to listen to live version and be awed by the infectious energy of the band in its performance -- just another great cut from what was an incredibly memorable night with Guided By Voices.

Space Gun is the lead single from Guided By Voices' 2018 album, also titled Space Gun. On the album, the song is a dense, layered affair, crackling with ambient white noise and shrouding lead singer Robert Pollard's vocals in a reverbed haze.

In this live version, Pollard's vocals are front and centre, projecting intensity and power. The live drums pack an exquisitely potent punch, and the crunchy dissonant guitars mirror the album version's spacey ambiance.
